Massage Cupping is a modern adaptation of the ancient art of cupping therapy. While massage performed by applying pressure, cupping instead uses negative pressure to pull, lift, open and expand the body’s soft tissues. Cupping helps to bring blood flow to tissues where hypertonicity, adhesions, or other issues have restricted it. Blood flow then brings nutrients to the area, and helps flush the area of metabolic waste products.
The reverse pressure exerted by the suction gently increases flexibility in the tissues and eliminates swelling if any. If there is any blockage and accumulation of fluids, it is released. Myofascial cupping is used to relieve any injuries received when playing sports. Patients with conditions related to the muscles and bone structure will find that this therapy is very effective. Ailments like back and neck pain, sprained muscles, strained tissues and other such problems can be alleviated with the use of myofascial cupping.
