A combination of Deep Tissue, MyoFascial Release, and Swedish Massage techniques applied to specific muscles or areas of the body to address pain, restricted range of motion, impaired function, or to facilitate physical therapy. Sometimes, Cupping is also used to hasten the release in specific areas without causing severe pain. Generally 45, 60, or 90 minute sessions, but can work in as little as 30 minute sessions for isolated issues or up to 90 or 120 minute sessions for more global issues.
OrthoBionomy Lower Body Balancing uses gentle movement, in combination with gentle traction or compression to release restrictions in the joints of feet, ankles and knees. These restrictions can impact the whole body, and people often experience relief of hip, back and even shoulder pain.
You will remain fully clothed, lying comfortably on a massage table while your therapist gently manipulates your feet, ankles and knees.
Sessions of 45, 60, and 90 minutes are available.
A combination of Swedish Based massage techniques, including effleurage (long smoothing motions), petrissage (kneading), and other gentle techniques. Relaxation massage addresses either the whole body, or broader body areas, to facilitate relaxation, stress relief, or support healing. It does not anticipate much specific work, and will only cursorily address problem areas. Sessions of 60, 75, 90, or 120 minutes are avaailable.
This unique form of massage therapy is highly interactive. Even though it does not directly address your upper body, most clients find that they feel completely relaxed, and notice that upper body tension is relieved as well.
Relaxation Massage can be more beneficial than many people realize. I may include Zero Balancing or CranioSacral techniques to enhance the experience of ease that relaxes muscles from the inside out.
A structural balancing technique that uses skilled touch to address the relationship between energy and structures of the body. Finger pressure and gentle traction, address areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue by creating still points around which the body can relax and reorganize. This gentle, yet profound, treatment addresses the densest tissues in the body, while also affecting soft tissues and the body’s energy fields. Excellent for relaxation, stress relief, postural balancing, and to promote and facilitate healing in conjunction with physical therapy or massage. You will remain fully clothed, lying on a massage table, for your Zero Balancing Session. 45-60 minute session.
CranioSacral Therapy is a deep, relaxing, and very gentle therapy that releases tensions by triggering parasympathetic responses from the nervous system and by releasing restrictions in the tissues within the cerebro-spinal system using gentle pressure and/or traction. CranioSacral Therapy is excellent for relaxation and stress relief, but has also been shown to provide specific relief for a number of conditions including migraines, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, and others (for more, see the full page on CST). You will remain fully clothed, lying on a massage table for your CranioSacral Therapy Session. 45, 60, 75 or 90 minute sessions .
SomatoEmotional Release (SER) allows you to find, and release the somatic (in the body) imprints of past events. When we experience a traumatic event or injury, we can hold the imprint of that event in our bodies for years unless we are able to release the emotional impact at the time of injury. The result is pain that recurs in the same place, over and over again despite intervention. SER uses Craniosacral Therapy's gentle touch and manipulation, to help the person release the residual effects of past trauma and negative emotional experiences from the mind, body, and spirit and to gain insight as to how that held trauma is influencing a client's physical and emotional health, and insight as to how to overcome the negative impacts, while eliminating physical pain. 45, 60 or 90 minute sessions.
Massage Cupping is a modern adaptation of the ancient art of cupping therapy. Cupping uses negative pressure to pull, lift, open and expand the body’s soft tissues. Cupping helps to bring blood flow to tissues where hypertonicity, adhesions, or other issues have restricted it.
The reverse pressure exerted by the suction gently increases flexibility in the tissues and eliminates swelling if any. Ailments like back and neck pain, sprained muscles, strained tissues and other such problems can be alleviated with the use of myofascial cupping.
Sessions of 45, 60, and 90 minutes are available.
Smooth stones are heated and then lubricated with oil, the therapeutic effects of heat are used to relax muscles more deeply. Used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, the use of massage stones induces deep relaxation and provides a unique experience many find to be tremendously calming and centering.
Sessions of 60, and 90 minutes are available. There are no same-day appointments for Hot Stone therapies.
Fijian Massage is one of the many modalities in which the practitioner uses feet instead of hands. Clients soon realize that this modality offers deep tissue work without the discomfort that many feel when receiving the deep pressure types of massage. Your therapist will support most of her weight on either a standing foot, or on a chair, and will use her heel, or toe, or the ball of her foot or the entire sole of her foot. Fijian Massage is deeply relaxing, and allows the release of muscular tension without pain.
60 and 90 minute sessions are available.
Reiki is a form of Energy Healing that works with your energetic system instead of your musculoskeletal system. Excellent for relaxation, stress relief, and to promote and facilitate healing in conjunction with physical therapy or massage. You will remain fully clothed, lying on a massage table, for your Reiki Session. 30, 45, 60, or 75 minute sessions.
The Chinese have long known about the energy channels in your body, and have been using them in acupuncture for centuries. I work with CranioSacral Therapy to balance your meridians, release blockages, or open pathways so that the energy can flow more smoothly. Through the meridians, we can address many conditions and improve overall wellbeing.
Chakras are energy centers in the body. While there are many of them, there are seven primary chakras. Each of these seven primary chakras is associated with a different aspect of your well-being. When your chakras are balanced, you are able to move through your life easily. When they are out of balance, facing the challenges of modern life can be harder than it needs to be. Using Reiki and CranioSacral Techniques, I help you balance your energy centers.
60, 75, or 90 minute sessions
