SEVA is a Sanskrit word that means "Selfless, Compassionate Service."
What if . . . The greatest act of Seva in the world is to live toyour fullest potential through compassionate self-care?
SEVA Stress Release is a simple and highly effective acupressure protocol that was developed to bring respite to the many heroic men and women enduring tremendous shock and stress as they worked at Ground Zero following the events of September 11, 2001. Its purpose, then and now, is to relieve suffering. In the intervening years, we have found that the protocol is an easy-to-learn method that works both as self-care and as an offering from one person to another. Insight Acupressure practitioners are bringing this service to people all over the United States and Europe, and it's Instructors are teaching it to lay-people and professionals alike. See below for a list of the many settings in which SEVA is being used.
The SEVA protocol can be self-administered or given to another person who is seated or lying down. The receiver remains fully clothed, and finds a comfortable resting place to enjoy the session. There are 15 specific points on each side of the body that are accessed during a session. Your practitioner will apply firm, but very gentle, pressure with one or more fingers to each point in a specific sequence, beginning and ending with a gentle stretch through your legs. Most sessions can be completed within about 20 minutes, but you can take as long as you need.
I am pleased to be able to offer classes in this wonderful work - I can teach you how to do it for yourself, or how to do it for others. And of course, I'm happy to offer sessions in which you can simply lay back, relax, and enjoy the peace engendered by SEVA.

I am honored to be able to to offer SEVA Stress Release sessions to all of my clients. You can schedule an appointment just for a SEVA session, or we can start or end any other session with SEVA. If you receive your SEVA session in my office, I'll have you remove your shoes, and your belt, and empty your pockets before lying down on a soft massage table. I'll gently stretch your legs, inviting held tension to drain away, then move up your body, gently placing my fingers on 15 specific of pairs points with a light curved touch. I'll end your session with another gentle leg stretch, and invite you to notice how different you feel.
In a basic session, we'll talk for a minute or two, and then you'll spend about 20 minutes on the table, However, if you're experiencing a lot of stress, or you want to pamper yourself, you can schedule a longer session.
One of the wonderful things about SEVA is that you don't have to wait for an appointment to receive its blessings. I can teach you a self-care protocol that reaches all of the same points I use when giving a SEVA session. Then, you can use it every day to help you attain and maintain a sense of peace in our increasingly complex world. There is even a two minute "bathroom stall" version that you can use during the day at work to remind your body that it knows how to release stress, and to live in a state of healthy flow. While it isn't as delicious as a full SEVA treatment, if you can take the time at the beginning or end of the day to allow each of the points to do their magic, giving yourself a quick tune up before or after a stressful meeting will remind your system of how to find that peace again.
I am delighted to teach you one-on one, or to teach a group of almost any size. Imagine how much more peaceful your work day would be if everyone in the office knew how to reset their nervous systems!
Once you've discovered how good SEVA feels, you're going to want to share it with your family and friends. Or, if you're a bodyworker, you're going to want to share it with your clients. Luckily, if you already know how to do the Self Care Protocol, you can learn how to give SEVA sessions to others in as little as three hours! I offer SEVA classes to couples, and parents so that they can share the peace with their families. I also offer SEVA classes to, nurses, doctors, CNAs, EMTs, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists and anyone else licensed to touch their clients.
